3-month-old boy dies after being bitten by Chelsea familyâs wolf-dog hybrid, officials say
An investigation is underway after an infant boy was killed by his family’s pet wolf-dog hybrid, officials said on Friday.
Shelby County Coroner Lina Evans said the 3-month-old was bitten Thursday afternoon at the family’s home in Chelsea.
He was taken to Grandview Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Evans said the family lives in a rural part of Chelsea but did not disclose the exact location, citing the ongoing investigation.
Details about the dog also weren’t immediately available. Evans said the family and investigators do know the lineage of the dog and that there is wolf in that lineage.
Efforts to reach sheriff’s officials for comment weren’t immediately successful.
